Paul's Saddle shop was founded in 1991. Paul Wiedeman started doing leather work during his last years with the Baton Rouge police department. He retired in 1991 and started operating the saddle shop full time. He became well known for his outstanding work and fair prices. Paul was a man of his word and made sure the customer recieved the best service possible. He enjoyed repairing saddles and selling tack for 20 years until cancer got the best of him. He passed away in November 2011.

Paul had a big part in his grandson's life. Between rodeos and working in the saddle shop, Austin and Paul were always together. Even as Austin grew older, he spent many hours in the saddle shop helping his grandpa and doing projects of his own. Since the passing of Paul, Austin has stepped up to continue the legacy of his grandpa pursuing the dying art of leather work.

"I never thought that I would want to take over the shop until I started spending a lot of time in there by myself. I love doing the work and always having a challenge. I promise to continue offering the best quality of work for the best price." ~Austin Morris
